I started reading Dr Bruce Lipton’s book, Biology of Belief. My dad was in Life Sciences so I had been raised with science all around me. I was so excited to read Bruce’s book and was planning to give it to Dad to read as soon as I was finished. His opinion mattered and I was sure we would have some deep discussions, blending his world of science and my more spiritual, alternative world of kinesiology. It never happened. Dad died unexpectedly one morning, despite efforts to resuscitate him. His heart had beaten its allotted beats, and he was gone. My dear, gentle Dad had left and I hadn’t had the chance to discuss all the amazing new discoveries of Bruce Lipton’s book.
Bruce Lipton is a cell biologist. In his book he explains how belief is cellular. We even say “I believe with every cell in my body”. Bruce Lipton also mentions a process called PSYCH-K® in his book and I was curious to find out more. Just three weeks after Dad died, I was attending the PSYCH-K® Basic Course. My grief was still raw and I kept seeing my hands pumping Dad’s chest as we fought to bring him back.
PSYCH-K® was amazing for me. I didn’t need to discuss my loss, which probably would have been more than I could bear. Instead we balanced it. And although I will never forget what happened that fateful day when Dad left, I was able to think about it in a softer way. The hard edges of grief had softened and I felt better able to cope.
Our lives are made up of a series of events which we label as good or bad, depending on our perception of the event. PSYCH-K® balances help us to change the perception of an event so that we are no longer reacting to it. Reaction may manifest as a racing heart, sweaty hands, heat rising to your ears, tightness in the chest or throat for example. Just thinking about some past or future event can trigger these reactions, over and over again. After a balance, once the perception has been changed, people often describe feeling calmer, quiet, still or relief.
Rochelle’s insight and passion for well-being is contagious. In only 2 sessions I’ve had amazing breakthroughs. Her relaxed manner and desire to make a difference is inspiring. I have always loved working with Rochelle as she was my Pilates teacher many years ago. Now, living in the UK, and in lockdown times, it was easy and convenient to do Psych-K sessions over Zoom.
